Scientists
at the University of Nebraska are conducting
research on methods to control the invasive
weeds Phragmites
(Common Reed), Russian
Olive and Salt
Cedar. The experiments consist of blending
mechanical, cultural, chemical and biological
control at different times of the year to
see which is most effective. The research
is funded by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture Riparian
Vegetation Management Task Force.
