DOI, FWS - Service Releases Climate Change Strategy for Public Review and Comment (Sep 23, 2009)
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service released a proposed strategic plan that will guide the agency's efforts to respond to the unprecedented threat posed by global warming.The proposed strategic plan: Rising to the Challenge: Strategic Plan for Responding to Accelerating Climate Change (2009; PDF | 1.1 MB), which is available for public review and comment will help guide the Service's response to impacts such as changing wildlife migration patterns, the spread of invasive species, changing precipitation patterns and rising sea levels. The proposed Action Plan for Climate Change (PDF | 570 KB), an appendix to the Strategic Plan, details the specific actions the Service will take during the next five years to implement the Strategic Plan.
