Plans Action to Protect Catlin Creek and
Adjacent Wetlands from Northern Snakehead (Sep 1, 2009) New York State Department
of Environmental Conservation. The
New York State Department of Environmental
Conservation (DEC) announced that it will apply
an aquatic pesticide to portions of Catlin
Creek and adjacent wetlands to eradicate the
invasive fish, Northern
Snakehead. The action, scheduled for
October, is a follow-up to successful steps
taken to rid nearby Ridgebury Lake and Catlin
Creek of more than 200 Northern Snakeheads
in summer 2008.
