White Perch Confirmed At El Dorado Reservoir (Jul 24, 2009)
Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
White perch, a non-native invasive species, have been found in El Dorado Reservoir. The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks adopted a regulation (Commission adds White Perch to Prohibited Species List) prohibiting the possession of live white perch in Feb 2007. There are signs at most boat ramps warning anglers and boaters about the dangers of transporting invasive species, as well as detailed information in the 2009 Fishing Regulations. See Aquatic Nuisance Species and White Perch for more information.
