Water Gauge Improvement and Weed Control Program - R09AS20035 (open Jul 14, 2009)

The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue a sole source Grant Agreement to Walker River Irrigation District. The purpose of this agreement is to provide funding to the Walker River Irrigation District for weed control and water gauge improvement. These activities will allow improved management of water resources in the Walker River Basin (Nevada), thereby providing benefits to the general public in the basin.
Closing date for applications is Jul 28, 2009.

Surprise FO Invasive and Noxious Plant Management – BLM-CA-NOI-09-2008 (open Jul 8, 2009)

The purpose of the grant is to coordinate with Modoc County Department of Agricultural for early detection and rapid response program and to control, reduce the spread of, and prevent the further invasion and establishment of noxious weeds using the most economical, appropriate and effective weed control methods available on both private and public lands. The recipient is the County Agriculture.
Closing date for applications is Jul 30, 2009.

The purpose of the grant is to coordinate with Siskiyou County Department of Agriculture for early detection and rapid response program and to control, reduce the spread of, and prevent the further invasion and establishment of noxious weeds using the most economical appropriate and effective weed control methods available on both private and public lands. The recipient is the County Agriculture.

Invasive Species Control and Management - CNWR-2009-03 (open Jul 22, 2009)

The principal purpose of this agreement is to restore native habitat within the historic floodplain of the Lower Colorado River. All restoration efforts (cleaning, clearing, planting) that occur have a profound benefit to the wildlife resources occurring in desert uplands and along the riparian corridor adjacent to the Lower Colorado River. Restored sites will mimic historic cottonwood-willow gallery forests, supplement available habitat for threatened and endangered species, and reduce invasive exotic plant distribution.

Hawaii Invasive Species Work Plan - FWSPIO20 (open Jul 23, 2009)

The purpose of this Grant Agreement is to provide funds to fund a full-time Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Project Coordinator position and implement the Hawaii Aquatic Invasive Species Work Plan. These activities relate to the State of Hawai‘i Aquatic Invasive Species Management Plan which was approved by the National Aquatic Nuisance Species Task Force.

Nevada Biodiversity Initiative Projects - FWS-RENO-09-15 (open Jul 17, 2009)

Marine Fisheries Initiative (MARFIN) - NOAA-NMFS-SE-2010-2001772 (open Jul 16, 2009)

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Southeast Region, is seeking proposals under the Marine Fisheries Initiative Program (MARFIN), for research and development projects that optimize the use of fisheries in the Gulf of Mexico and off the South Atlantic states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida involving the U.S. fishing industry (recreational and commercial), including fishery biology, resource assessment, socioeconomic assessment, management and conservation, selected harvesting methods, and fish handling and processing.

Coastal Hypoxia Research Program (CHRP) - NOAA-NOS-NCCOS-2010-2001814 (open Jul 16, 2009)

The purpose of this document is to advise the public that NOAA’s National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, Center for Sponsored Coastal Ocean Research is soliciting proposals for projects of 2 to 5 years in duration that advance understanding, prediction, and management of the causes and ecological and economic impacts of hypoxia in representative coastal ecosystems, under the Coastal Hypoxia Research Program (CHRP).
Funding is contingent upon the availability of Fiscal Year 2010 Federal appropriations. It is anticipated that final recommendations for funding under this announcement will be made by early Calendar Year 2010, and that projects funded under this announcement will have an Aug 1, 2010 start date.
Closing date for applications is Oct 14, 2009.
