Aquatic
Invasive Species Prevention and Control Plan -- Draft (Mar 2009) Dane Country. Office of Lakes & Watersheds.
Dane County's Office of Lakes and Watersheds has developed a public review draft of an Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention and Control Plan. The plan will involve the county working together with stakeholder groups, surrounding counties and the state to prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species in Dane County waters. The plan will serve as a guide for Dane County and its partners in combating problems caused by aquatic invasive species that are already here, such as Eurasian water milfoil, and in preventing the introduction of others such as Asian carp and Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia. The Office of Lakes & Watersheds will submit the plan to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in June of 2009. If the plan is approved by the DNR, Dane County will qualify for state funding to implement the plan. The deadline for comments is Apr 30, 2009.
