North Carolina 2009 River Course Workshops:
River Course 131 - Assessment and identification of
Riparian Vegetation

Chatham County Agricultural Building,
Pittsboro, North Carolina
This two-day course will introduce students to vegetation
assessment of
riparian areas along streams that will potentially be
restored. Existing
riparian condition will be examined and discussed in
both classroom and
field settings. Topics will include stream bank stability
from a vegetative
perspective, evaluation of current plant inventory, invasive
vegetation
issues, and potential planting constraints.

considerations
