Biofuel to Drive Indonesian Palm Oil Expansion
Indonesia's government plans to develop 3 million hectares of palm oil plantations in the next five years to meet increasing demand for biofuel as an alternative source of energy.

2nd National Ag/Forestry Renewable Energy Summit
The 2nd National Ag/Forestry Renewable Energy Summit sets the launch of the 25x'25 initiative to national prominence. The vision for this initiative: by the year 2025, America's working lands will provide 25 percent of the nation's energy from renewable resources. The Summit is scheduled for March 7 - 9 in Washington, DC.

Tax credits on biodiesel/alternative fuels
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT) offers a small producer biodiesel and ethanol credit, and a credit for installing alternative fuel refueling property.

Clean Auto Fuel Standards
Starting this year, Americans will be gassing up with nearly 3% of clean-burning, domestic renewable fuels such as ethanol under new standards issued by EPA. Authorized by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, the standard is the first step in EPA's Renewable Fuels Standard Program, which is designed to cut vehicle emissions and strengthen US energy security by doubling use of fuels produced from US crops by 2012.
